The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of senior estimators, establishing estimating standards, and overseeing the preparation of various bid estimates. This role is pivotal in determining the company's project pursuits and competitive positioning in the market, requiring a combination of technical estimating expertise, leadership capability, and strategic judgment in evaluating risk and project selection. Candidates for the Vice President of Estimating position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, with a preference for a Professional Engineer (PE) license or industry certifications. A minimum of 15 years' experience in heavy civil construction, particularly in estimating large and complex infrastructure projects, is essential. The role demands a strong understanding of DOT procurement processes, experience with heavy civil estimating platforms, and the ability to evaluate project strategy at an executive level. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, be adept at collaborating with various teams, and have a background in major transportation project types, including highways, bridges, aviation, rail, and water infrastructure.
