Vice President of Finance, Financial Controller About the Company Accomplished real estate development & construction firm Industry Real Estate Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is in search of a Vice President of Finance to play a pivotal role in the strategic financial management of the organization. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive leadership team, providing essential financial direction and oversight. This role demands a professional with a deep understanding of real estate development finance, including cash flow modeling, project-level forecasting, capital planning, and financial analysis to support operational and investment decisions. The VP of Finance will be responsible for leading the finance department in all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and M&A, as well as overseeing cash flow planning, capital funding, and bank negotiations. Applicants for the Vice President of Finance position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, with an MBA being preferred. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance role, particularly within the commercial real estate industry. The role also involves fostering investor relations, handling FP&A, and ensuring financial reporting and audit readiness. The ideal candidate will be proficient in financial management software, have a strong knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods, and possess excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. The VP of Finance will be expected to be both analytical and strategic, capable of anticipating capital needs, optimizing funding strategies, and providing actionable insights to the ownership and project leadership teams.
