Vice President of Human Resources About the Company Expanding specialty retailer serving the Asian American community Industry Retail Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Director/Vice President of Human Resources to join their team. The successful candidate will be a strategic business partner at the corporate level, overseeing the entire HR function for the organization. This leadership role is pivotal in balancing strategic leadership with operational execution, with a focus on labor optimization, budget management, and fostering a unified culture across a dispersed workforce. Key responsibilities include partnering with department heads to design human capital strategies, leading the annual labor budgeting process, and ensuring HR policies support efficient store operations. The role also involves talent acquisition, development, and retention, as well as change management and championing initiatives for an inclusive workplace. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field, with an MBA or Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years' progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, is required, with significant experience in retail, grocery, or multi-site operational environments. The ideal candidate will have SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification, proven ability to lead and develop a dispersed HR team, and strong financial acumen. Proficiency in HRIS and talent management software, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of employment laws, compliance, and safety protocols are essential.
