Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION The Vice President Revenue Cycle is a core member of the UCSF Health leadership team, responsible for the strategic revenue cycle management to drive optimal performance and support finance objectives. Accountable for the management and operation of the revenue cycle for UCSF Health which includes UCSF Health Enterprise including the Adult Academic Medical Centers, Benioff Children’s Hospitals, the Ambulatory Business Unit including Provider Practices, The Community Hospitals, and Affiliate Networks.Responsible and accountable for all aspects of UCSF Health revenue cycle including compliance with UCSF standards and outside regulatory and accreditation agencies. Scope of oversight includes Patient Financial Services, Medical Group Business Services, Patient Access, Inpatient and Outpatient Facility and Professional Coding, Revenue Cycle Quality, Education, and Performance Improvement, and Research Revenue Cycle. As a member of the senior management team, the VP leads executives in establishing strategy and objectives for improving health system financial performance. Plays a key role in the strategic direction, goal setting and performance management of the revenue cycle. Builds consensus and engages with a broad stakeholder group including medical staff, hospital leadership, and medical group leadership to design, implement, and maintain a high performing and metric driven institutional revenue cycle. Directs large, multi-dimensional initiatives collaborating across entities and departments. Accountable for aligning revenue cycle operations across UCSF and reporting on key metrics. Takes responsibility for the accuracy and underlying drivers of revenue cycle information and reports. Serves as a senior advisor to leaders, providing financial information for decision-making. Reports to UCSF Health’s Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer. The VP Revenue Cycle ensures a high level of financial coordination between the UCSF Health Leadership, and other joint ventures and affiliates. Works in close collaboration with Business Unit Chief Financial Officers and Controllers as well as leaders in Government Reimbursement, Health Information Management, Revenue Integrity, Managed Care Contracting, Compliance, Information Technology Case Management, and others. This position presents and interprets financial information on a regular basis to Senior Management, UCSF Health Committees, and Governance Boards. Responsibilities of the Vice President Revenue Cycle span the enterprise and require constructive relationships with all UCSF leadership, affiliate partners and outside agencies. This is a senior leadership position that requires a proven background leading healthcare revenue cycle functions, with a strong understanding of hospital operations. Expected to successfully interact, negotiate and build UCSF Health relationships, programs and partnerships with an extremely high degree of autonomy. Recognized as an influential leader that strategically manages change through business planning and program execution to achieve broad initiatives.
