Vice President, Specialty Operations Location: Chicago, IL | Type: Full-Time, Onsite Compensation: $180,000 – $200,000 + Performance Bonus The Mission: Disrupting the Status Quo Founded in 2021 by industry veterans, our client isn't just another healthcare company—they are a disruptor. As they scale their specialty pharmacy service line in 2026, they need a disciplined, operationally wired leader to help turn their vision into a well-oiled machine. The Role: The "Operator" We are seeking a VP of Specialty Pharmacy Operations who thrives in the "front-end" of the business. Our client is a non-dispensing pharmacy ; their model is built on capturing and routing claims, ingesting scripts, and managing patient relations—not filling bottles. You will be the primary operator responsible for scaling our Specialty Pharmacy team. You are the architect of the workflow, ensuring that every script moves with precision and every patient interaction is world-class. Key Responsibilities Drive Operational Excellence: Lead day-to-day operations including intake, prior authorization, benefits investigation, and patient support. Scale the Model: Develop and implement scalable operating models to support a surge in sales volume and complexity. Clinical Coordination: Oversee patient management programs to ensure adherence and optimal clinical outcomes. Compliance & Accreditation: Ensure 100% compliance with URAC, ACHC, and state/federal regulatory requirements. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the "front-end" process and implement initiatives to improve turnaround times and patient satisfaction. Who You Are An Operator at Heart: You are process-oriented and find joy in creating order out of the chaos of a high-growth startup environment. Specialty Expert: You have 10+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy operations (backgrounds from Walgreens, Optum, CVS, or Orsini are highly valued). Chicago-Based & Mobile: Comfortable with being on-site and the long-term vision of scaling operations toward our Missouri hub. Credentialed: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a PharmD or MBA is preferred . While you won't be dispensing, being a licensed Pharmacist is a significant bonus. Why Join Us?
