Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Village Deputy Clerk Treasurer to join our municipal team. In this vital role, you will be performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and financial tasks, including maintaining records, processing payments, and providing general office support. The Deputy is expected to act as a backup for the Treasurer and/or Clerk in their absence. Their responsibilities may include managing utility billing, issuing permits, interacting with the public on various village matters, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective cash management. Your expertise will support transparent financial reporting and sound fiscal practices, contributing to the community’s growth and stability. Responsibilities Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while maintaining high ethical standards. Maintaining accurate records of village documents, including licenses, permits, meeting minutes, and official correspondence. Answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and providing information to the public. Filing and organizing documents. Preparing and distributing notices and reports. Managing the village calendar and scheduling meetings. Processing payments for utility bills, fees, and other village services. Maintaining cash receipts and making bank deposits. Assisting with budget preparation and tracking expenses. Preparing invoices and sending out payments. Election Administration Maintaining the village website and social media presence Processing public records requests Handling resident complaints and inquiries Key Skills and Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the public Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software Basic understanding of accounting principles Knowledge of local government procedures and regulations Youngstown Area residency is required Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Benefits Flexible schedule Retirement plan Work Location: In person
