This is a Part Time position About the Role As a Café Barista at Vishwas Shanti Café, you will play an essential role in creating an exceptional customer experience. This position supports the preparation and operation of the café before, during, and after service. The Barista is responsible for preparing beverages and food items, maintaining a clean and organized café environment, managing stock levels, and handling payments securely while delivering outstanding customer service. Qualifications Previous experience as a trained barista or in catering is desirable. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team. Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adapt to operational needs. Availability to work Saturdays as needed. Responsibilities Provide exemplary customer service at the counter, ensuring prompt assistance and a positive customer experience. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, cakes, and food items according to established standards. Offer product recommendations and menu guidance to enhance customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Manage customer queues efficiently and support efforts to maximize sales through appropriate product suggestions. Monitor and maintain stock levels of supplies and consumables, including managing orders and ensuring proper stock rotation. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café, including clearing tables, managing waste, and keeping work areas tidy. Address customer concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary. Ensure security procedures are followed, including proper cash handling, accurate payment processing, and vigilance against theft or fraud. Follow established operating procedures, OSHA regulations, and food hygiene standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. Support café operations by collaborating with team members and assisting with additional tasks as needed. Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
