SUMMARY We are currently hiring for the 2026–2027 school year. Training will begin in June, with regular program hours starting in August 2026. The VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Instructor leads engaging, hands-on arts enrichment programs for students in TK–12th grade using a developmentally differentiated curriculum and provided training. Instructors create inclusive, creative, and supportive learning environments where students explore artistic expression through dance, music, visual arts, and theatre while developing confidence, collaboration, communication, and performance skills. Through interactive arts experiences, students build creativity, self-expression, discipline, and artistic technique while gaining exposure to visual and performing arts pathways. Instructors guide students through age-appropriate projects, performances, and creative experiences that encourage imagination, leadership, and artistic growth. Key Responsibilities Teach and lead VAPA enrichment classes in dance, music, visual arts, and/or theatre using provided curriculum, lesson plans, and training Facilitate engaging, hands-on activities that promote creativity, self-expression, and artistic exploration Teach foundational and advanced artistic skills appropriate for varying grade levels and developmental stages Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and collaboration Lead students through creative processes including rehearsals, performances, visual art projects, choreography, music activities, dramatic play, and presentations Adapt instruction to support different learning styles, abilities, and grade levels Prepare materials, supplies, equipment, and classroom setups prior to instruction Support student growth in communication, teamwork, confidence, and artistic expression Organize and facilitate student showcases, performances, exhibitions, and presentations Maintain organized, safe, and engaging learning spaces Communicate professionally with staff, school partners, and families Curriculum & Program Focus The VAPA program uses a developmentally differentiated curriculum designed to progressively build artistic confidence, creativity, technical skills, collaboration, and performance abilities across grade levels. TK–2nd Grade (Foundational Exploration) Students explore the arts through imagination, movement, music, storytelling, dramatic play, and sensory-based creative experiences. Instruction focuses on creativity, self-expression, rhythm, movement, foundational art techniques, and collaborative participation in a fun and supportive environment. 3rd–5th Grade (Skill Development & Creative Application) Students build artistic skills through more structured projects and performances in dance, theatre, visual arts, and music. Instruction emphasizes technique, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and confidence-building through rehearsals, performances, visual art creation, and artistic presentations. Middle School (Creative Growth & Artistic Independence) Middle school students develop greater independence and artistic identity while strengthening technical and creative skills. Students explore choreography, acting, music performance, visual art techniques, creative storytelling, stage presence, and collaborative productions while building leadership and presentation skills. High School (Advanced Application & Artistic Leadership) High school students refine artistic techniques and engage in advanced creative experiences that support artistic expression, portfolio development, performance preparation, collaboration, and career exploration in visual and performing arts fields. Students may participate in showcases, productions, exhibitions, and leadership opportunities while developing professionalism and creative confidence.
