Volunteer Coordination Associate (Seasonal) La Puente Home, Inc. Alamosa, CO $18.00 - $22.00 per hour - Seasonal (May 4 - Oct 2, 2026) Make an impact this season.Build, lead, and connect.La Puente Home is seeking a hands-on, people-oriented Volunteer Coordination Associate to help lead volunteer efforts across our programs this season.This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working with people and isn't afraid to pick up a drill, swing a hammer, or guide a group through a meaningful project.You'll help ensure volunteers have a great experience while directly improving the spaces where we serve our community.Seasonal Position This is a temporary, seasonal position beginning May 4, 2026 and ending October 2, 2026.Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the season.Future opportunities may be available but are not guaranteed.What You'll Do Volunteer Coordination Schedule and communicate with volunteer groups (typically 4-20 people) Serve as a welcoming point of contact for volunteers across programs Project Planning & Execution Identify and plan volunteer-friendly projects across La Puente sites Coordinate materials, tools, and timelines Maintain a running list of ready-to-go service projects Hands-On Project Leadership You'll regularly guide volunteers in practical projects such as:Basic carpentry and repair work Painting, drywall patching, and facility improvements Door/window repairs or replacements Small builds (ramps, decks, sheds, etc.) Help Coordinate, prepare and cook shelter meals with volunteers.Program Support Collaborate with program staff to align volunteer efforts with real needs Help track volunteer participation and ensure a positive experience What We're Looking For Required Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to lead groups and adapt when plans change Comfortable working independently and across multiple teams Hands-On / Handy Skills (Strongly Preferred) Experience with basic construction, maintenance, or repair work Comfortable using common hand and power tools (drills, saws, ladders, etc.) Ability to estimate materials and think through small project logistics Confidence guiding others in completing physical projects safely Bonus Points Experience working with volunteers or service groups A positive, engaging presence, charisma absolutely helps in this role Physical & Work Expectations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working indoors and outdoors Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends Typical schedule:Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (flexible depending on workgroup needs) Why This Role Matters At La Puente, volunteers are a vital part of how we serve the San Luis Valley.In this role, you'll help turn willingness into action--creating meaningful experiences for volunteers while improving the spaces where our community finds support, stability, and connection.Pay:$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
