Job Description
Vice President, Business Development & Commercial Location: Colorado (On-Site) Travel: Up to 70–75% initially About The Opportunity A privately held infrastructure platform is seeking a Vice President of Commercial / Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives across a national portfolio of energy and aviation-related infrastructure assets. This executive will drive full-cycle transaction execution, including greenfield and brownfield developments, public-private partnership (PPP) structures, and acquisition opportunities. The role requires a proven deal leader who thrives in complex regulatory environments and can balance strategic vision with disciplined execution. This opportunity is ideal for a commercial executive coming from either the midstream refined products sector or the aviation infrastructure/fueling ecosystem . Position Overview The Vice President of Commercial / Business Development will lead origination, structuring, negotiation, and closing of complex infrastructure transactions while overseeing and developing the existing commercial team. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong financial acumen, regulatory understanding, and the ability to operate in a lean, performance-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Transaction Leadership Lead full-cycle greenfield and brownfield infrastructure transactions Source, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships Conduct due diligence, valuation analysis, and financial modeling Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements and long-term concession frameworks Develop pricing and contract strategies to maximize asset performance and profitability Strategic Growth Identify new market entry opportunities and expansion initiatives Build innovative commercial models and new revenue streams Support capital allocation decisions and board-level investment approvals Relationship & Stakeholder Management Develop executive-level relationships with: Airport authorities Airlines Energy suppliers Infrastructure investors Regulatory bodies Represent the organization at industry events and conferences Team Leadership Lead and develop a high-performing commercial team Establish accountability and execution discipline Operate as both player and coach in a fast-moving environment Qualifications 10+ years of progressive commercial experience within: Midstream refined products Aviation fueling and airport infrastructure Infrastructure development and PPP environments Minimum 5 years leading commercial teams Demonstrated track record of closing complex infrastructure transactions Experience structuring long-term commercial agreements and concession models Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities Deep understanding of regulatory and contractual frameworks in energy or aviation infrastructure Ability to travel up to 75% initially Ideal Backgrounds We Welcome Candidates With Experience In Midstream refined products pipelines and terminals Airport fuel systems and aviation infrastructure Infrastructure development platforms PPP / concession-based infrastructure models M&A-driven growth environments What Success Looks Like Closed and executed strategic growth transactions Expanded commercial relationships and revenue streams Strengthened organizational commercial capabilities Positioned the platform for long-term infrastructure value creation If interested, please apply here.
