Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated early childhood education team as a VPK Teacher Assistant! In this important role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and positive learning environment for preschool children during their most important developmental years. We are looking for someone energetic, caring, patient, and passionate about working with young children. Your support will help foster early literacy, social-emotional growth, creativity, and school readiness skills while helping children feel safe, loved, and confident every day. This is a paid position and a wonderful opportunity to grow professionally in the field of early childhood education while making a meaningful impact in children’s lives. Duties Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Support lesson plans and hands-on learning experiences Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Supervise children during centers, transitions, meals, nap time, and playground activities Encourage positive behavior and social-emotional development through redirection and positive reinforcement Work with children individually or in small groups to support learning and development Support children with different learning needs, including children with disabilities or autism when needed Communicate positively and professionally with parents, staff, and children Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and daily cleaning duties Qualifications Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is preferred Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or school setting preferred Passion for early childhood education and working with children Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining patient and positive Knowledge of classroom management and child development is a plus CDA certification or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus Join our team and become part of a loving and supportive environment where teachers are valued and children are encouraged to learn, grow, and shine every day Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour Work Location: In person
