WANTED:SALTWATER WIZARD (Freshwater & Plant Powers Welcome Too)We're hiring!Yes, this is real.No, you still can't just stare at the reef all day though we understand the urge.We're a locally owned aquarium & houseplant shop, 2 years deep, and we're officially on the hunt for a dedicated saltwater person -- someone who knows their reef stuff and can keep the ocean looking chef's kiss.OPEN POSITION(S):Saltwater Aquatics Specialist (Full-Time or Strong Part-Time) THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF:You can spot a problem coral before the customer finishes saying I think something's wrong You know the difference between LPS, SPS, and soft corals (and don't call everything that waving one) You've battled algae outbreaks and lived to tell the tale You've definitely said the words check your parameters more than once this week WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:Has real, hands-on saltwater experience (this part is non-negotiable) Is comfortable maintaining reef systems, fish-only systems, and troubleshooting issues Understands filtration, lighting, flow, dosing, cycling, and reef basics Can explain saltwater concepts to customers without melting their brains Has freshwater and/or planted tank knowledge (big plus) Has houseplant experience (also a plus, because plants live here too) Isn't afraid of wet floors, salt creep, algae, or the occasional mystery smell AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS (IMPORTANT):Must be able to work Saturdays & Sundays from 12-5 Must be available at least one weeknight (more is a bonus) If weekends aren't your thing, this probably isn't your tank.A TYPICAL DAY MAY INCLUDE:Feeding, testing, frag checking, and making sure the reef looks dialed in Acclimating new saltwater fish and corals Explaining why a tang will not be happy in a nano tank Answering Can I do saltwater if I've never had a fish before? with honesty and kindness Cleaning tanks, checking equipment, helping customers, and preventing chaos Occasionally muttering that's not dead, it's just mad WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:Competitive pay based on experience Serious staff discounts (dangerous for reef people) A laid-back shop with a team that actually cares about animals A workplace where no two days are the same Constant access to fish, corals, plants, and weird customer questions HOW TO APPLY:Email PICKFISHPETS@GMAIL.COM with:A quick intro about you Your saltwater experience (be honest, we love details) Your availability Your favorite saltwater fish or coral (Yes, we are absolutely judging -- kindly.)
