The Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Manager oversees the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department in a warehouse. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. The manager will lead a team, coordinate with other departments, and maintain high standards of inventory management and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise the shipping and receiving staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and continuous improvement. Oversee all aspects of the shipping and receiving process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Develop and implement procedures to streamline shipping and receiving operations. Coordinate with the warehouse manager to ensure optimal storage and movement of inventory. Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Perform regular audits of shipping and receiving processes and inventory levels. Resolve discrepancies and issues related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management. Coordinate with carriers and vendors to schedule shipments and deliveries. Negotiate shipping rates and contracts with carriers to optimize costs. Track and report on shipping metrics and performance. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety training and inspections. Address and resolve any issues related to shipments, including delays, damages, and returns. Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by meeting shipping deadlines and accuracy. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not required Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse shipping and receiving operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and software. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
