Job Description
Operations Manager -- Warehouse/DistributionLocation:Bloomington, ILShift:Early morning start (typical 6:00 AM) Monday-Friday; occasional weekendsCompensation:$80,000+/year bonus potential OverviewSeeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse and distribution activities.The role requires a hands-on leader with at least 3 years of progressive management experience in distribution, transportation, or third-party logistics.The manager will ensure safe, efficient operations, strong customer service, and accurate financial and operational reporting.Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily warehouse operations with safety and efficiency as priorities- Negotiate rates and coordinate with common carriers and transportation partners- Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate warehouse associates; manage hiring and terminations- Create and maintain daily work logs, labor and billing audits, and operational reports- Manage cash handling and daily bank deposit preparation and reconciliation- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for services performed and complete daily closeout procedures (cash balancing, data upload, payroll records)- Schedule staff to meet customer requirements and fluctuating workload- Lead weekly safety meetings and enforce safety and company policies- Resolve customer service and associate issues promptly and professionally- Assist in managing site and departmental budgets; prepare operational reports and support P&L review Qualifications- Minimum 3 years of supervisory/management experience in an industrial, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and mentor teams- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills- Ability to make operational decisions, problem solve, and direct staff in a dynamic environment- Experience managing budgets and familiarity with P&L concepts- Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook; reporting experience a plus)- Comfortable estimating and calculating rates and basic arithmetic while multitasking- Flexible availability for start times, occasional weekends, and holiday coverage Physical Requirements- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Education and Experience- Experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or third-party services preferred- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field a plus but not required- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills- Proven record supervising warehouse staff and delivering high levels of customer service Compensation & Benefits- Salary based on experience and qualifications- Quarterly incentive tied to operational performance- Benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k)) after eligibility period NotesThis is a general description of the role and not all duties are listed.Responsibilities may change over time based on business needs.Pay:From $80,000.00 per year Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location:In person.
