Wastewater Field Operator We are seeking a dependable, motivated Wastewater Field Operator to support the daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater collection and treatment systems. This role plays a key part in helping our municipal and industrial clients stay compliant, maintain reliable operations, and protect public health. This is a part-time position to start, with a full-time opportunity in the future. What You’ll Do Operations & Monitoring Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes, lift stations, and collection system components Conduct routine inspections of pumps, valves, manholes, aeration systems, and other infrastructure Record operational data including flows, pressures, chemical usage, and equipment readings Field Work & Maintenance Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment Troubleshoot equipment issues and support emergency response activities Maintain grounds, buildings, and safety equipment at treatment and lift station sites Sampling & Compliance Collect wastewater samples and perform basic field tests Complete in-house laboratory analysis Document results and support compliance with state and federal regulations (including NPDES requirements) Maintain accurate logs, reports, and digital records Safety & Teamwork Follow all safety procedures, including confined space entry and lockout/tagout Use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe work environment Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, contractors, and the public Participate in after-hours, weekend, and emergency on-call rotations What You Bring Required High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license Ability to perform physical fieldwork in all weather conditions Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn wastewater operations Ability to lift 50 pounds Preferred Experience in wastewater, water utilities, environmental fieldwork, or industrial maintenance Knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, SCADA systems, and process equipment Wastewater Operator certification (Class I or higher), or ability to obtain within required timeframe Skills That Make You Successful Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance Work Environment Outdoor fieldwork and treatment plant environments Exposure to wastewater, chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment Use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment recblid zebtxzue9nyo8we6foa2gu9nlpvg6r
