This position requires Monday through Thursday regular availability, though may require Friday through Sunday availability, dependent on department needs The City of Chino offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package.For more information, please click on the image below:Who We Are The City of Chino is a vibrant place to live, work, and play, that is recognized for its integrity and dedication to public service.Together we take pride in providing quality, caring service to our community.The City of Chino pursues excellence in all facets of our operations and services, guided by the following Organizational Values:Commitment to Our Community Integrity & Accountability Fiscal Responsibility Partnerships & Teamwork Innovation Communication & Engagement The Public Works Department plays a key role in maintaining and improving the City's infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors.The department oversees streets, traffic systems, landscaping, lighting, water, sewer, and storm drains, as well as City-owned facilities and vehicle fleets.Public Works also provides engineering, environmental compliance, and inspection services, manages capital improvement projects and recycling programs, and administers the City's solid waste franchise.Committed to quality, efficiency, and sustainability, the department helps build a safe, resilient, and thriving community.Duties/Responsibilities What You'll Do As our new Wastewater Maintenance Worker, you will:Operate and maintain a wide range of vehicles and equipment, such as dump trucks, backhoes, vacuum trucks, and sewer inspection tools.Assist in cleaning and maintaining sewer mains, storm drains, and lift stations using specialized equipment.Perform unskilled to skilled manual labor in maintaining and repairing streets, sidewalks, sewer systems, traffic signs, parks, and more.Respond to emergency calls, including placing barricades, debris removal, street sign replacement, and urgent repairs.What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who:Is knowledgeable in equipment operation, techniques, and methods used in the area of Wastewater Maintenance.Understands traffic laws, ordinances, and City-mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.Is excited by challenges, loves to learn, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Qualifications Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:Education:Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by specialized training in construction and maintenance work.Experience:Three (3) years of relevant maintenance experience.Licenses and Certifications (For part-time Wastewater Maintenance Worker only):Possession of a valid California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.Special Requirements Physical Demands and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in the field and to perform medium to heavy physical work.Operate a motor vehicle and visit various community sites.Vision to inspect and operate equipment.Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects averaging a weight of 50 pounds, or heavier weights, in all cases with the use of proper equipment and/or assistance from other staff.Ready to Apply?
