About the Role The Water Meter Installer reports to the Smart Meter Deployment Operations Manager at Bermex. This position plays a key role in water meter maintenance and measurement. This position also requires a high degree of walking in outdoor environmental conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional flexibility day to day. What You'll Do Water Meter Maintenance: Perform visual inspections of water service for leaks Identify hazards at meter sites and report accordingly Properly change out water meters of varying sizes and brands Properly change out water meter registers for AMI/AMR upgrade Water Meter Reading: Read water meters Enter data collected in the field into a handheld computer Assist on additional projects, as necessary Customer Communication: Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities Provide general information about the meter services to customers, when applicable Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate Other duties as assigned. About You Must Haves: Education: None. Must be 18 years of age or older Experience: No experience necessary, employees will be trained. Valid driver's license is required Nice to Have: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 1 or more years of experience in the direct exchange of water meters and registers of varying sizes; 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working Your Skills Ability to multi-task, and work independently and as a team Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling.
