Description The City of Brentwood, TN is hiring a Water Services Maintenance Technician Brentwood Water Services Department Starting Compensation Includes: $19.84/hour base pay ($41,267.20 Annually) $2,000 annual transportation allowance (paid over 26 pay periods) Up to a 5% salary increase upon successful completion of a six-month probationary period $2,000 annual CDL supplement (paid over 26 pay periods) The City of Brentwood is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented individual to join its Water Services Department as a Water Services Maintenance Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and wants to build a stable long-term career maintaining essential infrastructure. As a Water Services Maintenance Technician, you will help maintain and repair the City’s water and sewer infrastructure, including pipelines, service connections, meters, hydrants, grinder systems, and related equipment. This position plays an important role in supporting reliable utility service for Brentwood residents and businesses. The Water Services Department is responsible for maintaining more than 225 miles of water lines, 13 pump stations, and nine finished-water storage tanks with a total capacity of 14 million gallons. As a member of this team, your work will have a direct and lasting impact on Brentwood residents and businesses. The City of Brentwood is located in scenic Williamson County, just south of Nashville, and is consistently recognized as one of the most desirable suburban communities in Tennessee. Duties and Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines, including pipes, fittings, service connections, meters, hydrants, and grinder systems Perform repairs and maintenance on water and sewer infrastructure, including cutting and replacing pipe, repairing service connections, and maintaining sewer clean-out piping Assist with general maintenance of pump stations, department property, easements, and related work areas Operate and help maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools used in water and sewer system operations Collect system data such as pressure, flow, and chlorine readings from various locations Perform heavy manual labor, including digging, handling pipe and materials, and supporting repair and maintenance projects Complete work orders, reports, and related documentation using the department’s work order system The ideal candidate: Has experience in construction, plumbing, utility, pipeline, public works, or related maintenance work Enjoys working outdoors in a physically active, hands-on environment Is dependable, safety-minded, and willing to learn Can work independently while also contributing to a team Takes pride in supporting essential public infrastructure and serving the community Minimum Training and Experience Required High school diploma or GED required One to two years of experience in construction, plumbing, pipeline, utility, or related maintenance work preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Valid Driver’s License required Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred or ability to obtain within two years of hire Benefits: Health and Vision Insurance (City pays employee’s premium and shares cost of dependent coverage.)
