Job Description
About the Person Are you a CPA done getting run over every spring & fall? An attorney tired of wrestling with clients over billable hours? A wealth strategist or private banker exhausted by steering every conversation back to AUM? Are you in a single-family office frustrated by the slow pace, mercurial nature, & lack of professional growth that comes with serving one family? If you've spent your career tackling complexity only to feel boxed in by the business model around you, keep reading. This role is for the strategic translator - someone who runs toward chaos (legal, tax, financial, emotional) & leaves order in their wake. You untangle messy webs of entities & assets, turn vague questions into organized frameworks, & make 9- & 10-figure family decisions feel clear & actionable without being technical. You build models when others shrug. You spot inconsistencies others miss. You believe simplicity is clarity - & clarity is a gift. You communicate in plain English - with pictures, tables, charts, & graphs, not jargon & footnotes. There's no ego in choosing the clearest word over the biggest one. You care about efficiency & effectiveness, not optics. If a one-page visual says it better than a ten-page memo, you build the visual. You bring serious project management chops. You juggle multiple engagements across multiple families, shifting seamlessly from a technical deep-dive on entity structuring to a sensitive conversation about family dynamics. The diversity of work is the draw: no two days look alike, no two families present the same puzzle, & mastery is a moving target. If "always a student, never bored" excites you more than "specialist, same deliverable," you'll thrive here. Impact is your love language - not sales, not business development, not closing. With nothing to sell, your only priority is delivering extraordinary impact, unreasonable hospitality, & exceptional value to every family you serve. You'll work alongside brilliant advisors - learning from & with them, complementing their expertise, & coordinating what no one else is incentivized to coordinate. You're not here to compete with a family's existing specialists. You're here to make every one of them better. If that resonates, Mosaic may be for you. About Mosaic Mosaic is a shared single-family office serving ~40 entrepreneurial families with significant illiquid holdings & complex needs that transcend what most private banks, multi-family offices, trust companies, & wealth managers are structurally built - or incentivized - to address. Our client families are typically first-generation founders. Builders who prefer boots & blue jeans with net worths of at least $100MM & a chronic allergy to liquidity. They already have deep benches of specialists. The talent is there. The coordination is not. 100% of our revenue comes from flat quarterly retainers. We don't charge hourly, manage money for a fee, sell products, draft legal documents, or prepare tax returns. We are agnostic about a family's net worth, insurability, & investable assets. That independence lets us do what most firms can't: serve as a proactive, comprehensive, & objective guide at the intersection of Financial Capital & Family Capital. About the Role Think of this role as the general contractor for a family's financial life. The family has plenty of specialists - the CPAs, attorneys, investment managers, insurance agents, bankers, & consultants. What they don't have is someone standing in the middle of all of it, making sure everything connects, nothing falls through the cracks, & every specialist is building toward the same blueprint. You'll own the god's eye view of each family's world: what they own, where they own it, how it's structured, what it's worth, how it's taxed, & what it costs. You'll own the consolidated balance sheet & income statement, & make sure the full picture is always current, always accurate, & always understood - by the family & by every advisor touching it. You'll work in small, tight-knit teams that typically serve 5 - 15 families at any given time. That means you know your families deeply - their goals, their quirks, their history, their blind spots. You're not just a second brain, a second set of eyes, a second set of ears, & most importantly, a second set of hands. You don't just spot what needs to happen - you help make it happen. You carry the institutional memory, flag emerging risks, identify opportunities other advisors aren't incentivized to see, & roll up your sleeves to do the actual work alongside the family & their specialists. Day to day, you're playing air traffic controller - navigating internal resources across Mosaic & external professionals to ke
