Job Description
Job Overview The Duzan Riding Academy is currently looking for detail-oriented, hardworking, reliable, responsible, and horse-loving individuals to join our team! Training may be provided to the right candidate. The horses are pleasant to work around, and the clients are friendly. Looking for a stable hand/ feeder for weekday (Mondays - Fridays) morning feed and barn chores. Starting at 7:00 am Responsibilities Morning Feeds and chores Turning out and bringing in horses Hay and grain Watering Blanket changes (as needed) Clean paddock water troughs Help pick out paddocks Observing horses for signs of illness, lameness, or injury Clean and maintain facilities Clean troughs and pick out paddocks weekly Misc Barn Chores Occasionally help with stall cleaning Requirements Must have at least three (3) years of prior horse care experience, including feeding, handling horses of all sizes, minor medical care, bandaging of legs, etc. Must be able to handle and help care for 32 horses Be 18 years or older Must have a dependable mode of transportation Must be able to manage time and be adaptable Must be able to lift 25 - 50lbs on a regular basis Have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and provide manual labor as needed Must be able to take direction as necessary Must be eligible to work in the US. No live-in accommodations are available. This position is at an Equine Facility. Employees must work in all temperatures and weather conditions . The environment is dusty.
