Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with varying needs in their home and community settings. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they assist, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive environment. This role requires a blend of personal care skills and the ability to engage with clients in meaningful ways. We are looking for staff from 9AM-3PM Saturdays and Sundays. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Provide medication administration as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health guidelines. Monitor and record vital signs as necessary, reporting any changes in health status to appropriate personnel. Offer support and companionship to individuals with dementia or autism, utilizing effective communication strategies tailored to their needs. Implement individualized care plans designed to meet the specific goals of each client. Assist clients in participating in community activities and social events to promote engagement and socialization. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care. Requirements Previous experience in home community care or home health is preferred. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic medical procedures is essential. Experience in dementia care or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable. Certification in CPR is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to assist others in achieving their personal goals. Ability to work weekends from 9AM-3PM High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in patient care or related fields are advantageous.
