Job Description
The AWAKE weekend overnight position requires personnel to work from 12:00 AM (midnight) to 8:00 AM Saturday and Sunday every weekend . Punctuality and attendance are a priority. Staff members are tasked with fostering a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the shelter. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of domestic violence and a commitment to Haven House's mission and core values. Responsibilities include answering the crisis hotline, conducting intakes and assessments, welcoming residents into the shelter, providing essential materials, and engaging in supportive communication, which encompasses problem-solving and crisis management. Additionally, staff members are responsible for supervising residents and implementing appropriate interventions as necessary. Documentation of shift activities and tracking of essential actions for grant purposes is also required. Staff will carry out assigned cleaning and administrative office tasks to support the operational needs of a 24-hour facility. Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to: A comprehensive understanding of domestic violence and trauma-informed responses A commitment to assisting survivors Exceptional crisis intervention and problem-solving capabilities Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using standard phone, fax, and copier equipment Computer literacy This position is funded by grants and is contingent upon the ongoing availability of such funding.
