Weekend Shift Thin Film Technician Location:Boulder, CO Pay:$22-$26/hour (DOE) Type:Temp-to-Hire Shift Available o Friday-Sunday:6:00 AM - 6:30 PM About the Role The Thin Film Technician supports optical coating operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining coating chamber systems used to apply specialized thin-film coatings to optical components.This is a hands-on role in a highly controlled, process-driven environment--well suited for someone interested in precision optics, thin-film technology, and manufacturing operations.You'll work closely with production and coating teams to maintain quality, safety, and consistency throughout each coating cycle.What You'll Do o Set up and operate thin film coating chamber systems o Prepare and assemble tooling, spacers, and backers o Load and unload optical components into coating chambers o Perform chamber preparation, including foiling, target changes, regens, and bead blasting o Start and monitor coating runs o Perform basic spectrophotometer scans on coated optics o Monitor chamber conditions, status, cleanliness, and quality impact o Perform basic crystal error recovery as needed o Handle chemicals safely and dispose of them per established procedures o Support 6S workplace organization and cleanliness o Follow all safety guidelines and promote safe work habits o Work collaboratively in a team-based production environment o Assist with additional duties as needed What You Bring o High School Diploma or GED preferred o Basic math and problem-solving skills o Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and standard MS Office tools o Manufacturing or process-driven experience a plus, but not required o Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Additional Requirements o Work may involve material governed by ITAR regulations o Must be authorized to work in the U.S.(no visa sponsorship available) Why This Role Stands Out This temp-to-hire opportunity offers hands-on experience with advanced optical manufacturing and thin-film coating processes in a structured, safety-focused environment.For candidates looking to build technical skills and grow long-term within precision optics manufacturing, this role provides a solid and stable career path..
