Scale Master (Weighmaster) Maine Waste to Energy - Auburn, ME Pay:$22-$26 per hour (adjust if needed)Job Type:Full-TimeSchedule:Tuesday-Friday, half days on Saturdays and occasional MondaysLocation:Auburn, ME (On-site) Overview Maine Waste to Energy is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Scale Master (Weighmaster) to join our team.This position plays a critical role in plant operations by managing inbound and outbound truck traffic, ensuring accurate ticketing and billing, and providing excellent customer service to haulers and the public.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in accuracy and organization.Key Responsibilities Accurately weigh all incoming and outgoing vehicles using the truck scale system Enter, verify, and maintain scale ticket data for billing and reporting accuracy Identify and classify waste types (residential, commercial, demolition, etc.) Direct truck traffic safely and efficiently to designated dumping areas Process payments (cash and check) and reconcile the daily cash drawer Upload and manage daily transactions in the Waste Works software system Prepare and maintain daily reports, including ash, recyclables, and waste transfers Generate system reports and assist with ticket reconciliation and audits Coordinate with operations staff to manage waste flow and maintain proper pit levels Communicate effectively with haulers and the public regarding site procedures, policies, and expectations Identify, document, and report unacceptable materials in coordination with operations Assist with recycling coordination, including vendor communication and logistics Maintain cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance of the scale house and scale area Perform general administrative and clerical duties as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good math and basic computer skills Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license (Class C) Prior experience as a cashier, weighmaster, or similar role preferred Preferred Experience Experience with truck scales or waste/recycling operations Familiarity with billing or accounts receivable processes Experience working with the public or in a customer-facing role Work Environment Office/scale house environment with frequent interaction with truck traffic Exposure to outdoor conditions and industrial setting Must be able to remain seated for extended periods while maintaining alertness Why Join Maine Waste to Energy?
