JOB Under general supervision performs work of considerable difficulty in the management of the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program; performs related work as assigned. This position is funded by the Women, Infants, and Children grant and the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling grant EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (Illustrative Only)Implements the WIC program to align with and support the strategic planPlans, develops, implements, administers, and evaluates the WIC program Assesses community needs and engages community resources to enhance the WIC programResearches best practices and implements strategies to increase effectiveness of the WIC programWorks with community partners to create innovative solutions Writes grant proposals and develops new funding sourcesPrepares and administers program budgets, with administrative oversightMonitors budget expendituresDevelops, evaluates, and revises policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and effectivenessSupervises, evaluates, and engages in performance management with assigned personnelNegotiates, administers, and monitors contractsEnsures adherence to federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulationsMaintains working relationships with community agencies and organizationsDevelops programs to create community awareness of service availabilityDevelops and implements trainingMay assist other divisions within the departmentMay serve as team leader and periodically as multi-agency team leader or project managerEssential functions of this position include but are not limited to: driving; working with and around others; co-workers, clients, agencies, etc.; working alone; vision acuity (near and far); dealing with interruptions; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation.
