Wine and Spirits Sales Associate

Vintage Grape is seeking a knowledgeable wine and spirits professional to assume a Sales Associate role at our store on the Upper East Side. We are a tight-knit group, and this role will be predominantly customer-facing with an emphasis on salesmanship and curation. The role is not entry-level and requires previous professional wine and spirits experience, retail preferred, WSET or CMS a plus. Title and additional responsibilities are negotiable. Vintage Grape specializes in the most sought-after wines and spirits in the New York market, while catering to a diverse clientele. In addition to providing room for growth and carving out your own role within the company, we are seeking a proactive worker who can balance the store's plans for growth while catering to our existing customers. Possible responsibilities of the role include: Assisting customers with selections and food pairings Tracking inventory movements to assess neighborhood demand Being the "face of the store" and primary intermediary between ownership and clientele Scheduling tasting appointments with reps and offering quality control advice to ownership Training staff on wine knowledge and sales tips Consulting with ownership on SKU selections and vendor relationships Scheduling and implementing in-store tastings Following all standard opening/closing procedures and cash protocols ' Work Location One location Work Remotely No Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Experience: Wine and Spirits: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: In person
