Position: Wine Tasting Room Assistant Manager Location: Santé Wine Tasting Room, Farmington, MI About Us: Santé Wine Tasting Room is a new wine bar that will be opening in downtown Farmington this Spring. Santé is more than just a wine bar – it’s a journey through vineyards and a celebration of camaraderie. Our mission is to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience through exceptional service, excellent wines, and a warm, inviting ambiance. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Hourly Tasting Room Assistant Manager to support daily operations and lead staff during service, maintaining standards, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. This role is active, on the floor, and operational, with leadership responsibilities but eligible for overtime as business needs dictate. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth, safe, and guest‑focused service Support Owner with hiring, training, coaching, and supervising staff Assist with scheduling and ensuring appropriate staffing levels Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times Manage inventory during shifts, including restocking, receiving deliveries, and communicating shortages Assist with ordering wine, food, and supplies as directed by ownership Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and staff Support execution of events, specials, and seasonal offerings Handle guest questions, feedback, and concerns professionally Monitor product quality, service standards, and guest satisfaction Use creativity to design and launch unique events that connect with our community and highlight the spirit of Santé Help strengthen our community presence by staying active on social media—sharing events Complete shift reports and communicate operational needs to ownership Minimum Qualifications 2–3 years of bar, tasting room, or restaurant supervisory experience Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and support a team Experience with food safety and employee policies Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays Interest in wine and willingness to learn Basic computer skills (email, POS, spreadsheets, social media) Must be 21+ and eligible to work in the U.S. Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Must pass a background check Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain) Certified Food Protection Manager Food Handler Server/Seller Training Food Allergen TIPS or TAMS Preferred Qualifications Strong wine knowledge and ability to educate guests Experience with charcuterie or small‑plate preparation Experience planning or executing events Familiarity with Toast POS and Backbar (Or similar inventory software) Benefits: Competitive hourly pay starting at $22-26 per hour depending on experience Overtime eligible (If Business needs dictate) Paid time off Employee wine & dining discounts Opportunities for professional development Supportive, fun, community‑focused work environment Opportunities to taste and help curate wine selections Employment-Type: Full-time, 35-40 hours per week.
