Summer Digital Media Intern Dallas, TX Monday to Friday Paid Internship | Build Your Portfolio | Real-World Experience Position Overview: We are seeking a WordPress Web Developer to support the redesign, development, and maintenance of the company’s WordPress website and digital platforms. The role involves improving website functionality, performance, and user experience while also helping strengthen the company’s online presence through social media platforms such as Instagram, X, Facebook, and others . The ideal candidate should be comfortable with website customization, content updates, branding, and digital engagement initiatives, while collaborating with team members on broader marketing and business goals. Key Specializations Website Development & Maintenance Redesign, develop, and maintain the company’s WordPress website with responsive, user-friendly, and visually compelling interfaces optimized for desktop and mobile platforms. Front-End Development Develop custom Gutenberg blocks, widgets, and interactive elements using React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Sass/LESS while ensuring cross-browser compatibility and strong user experience. Back-End & System Integrations Customize WordPress functionality through plugins, hooks, APIs, and database management, while integrating WordPress with external systems such as CRM, ERP, payment gateways, marketing automation tools, and REST APIs. Social Media & Digital Marketing Manage and grow the company’s presence across Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms through content creation, branding, SEO, analytics, and digital marketing initiatives aimed at strengthening the company’s online presence. Core Responsibilities WordPress Development & Customization: Build custom WordPress themes, child themes, and plugins tailored to business requirements. Develop Gutenberg blocks and templates to enhance content management and site flexibility. Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot existing WordPress sites and applications. Performance & Optimization: Optimize websites for speed, scalability, and responsiveness. Implement caching, database optimization, code minification, lazy loading, and other performance best practices. Ensure SEO-friendly website structures and accessibility compliance (WCAG). Security & Maintenance: Apply best practices for website security, including SSL, authentication, secure plugin use, and vulnerability mitigation. Monitor for malware, hacks, and other security threats; implement backup and disaster recovery plans. Maintain WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates without disrupting site functionality. Continuous Learning & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress releases, plugins, and industry trends. Research and recommend new tools, frameworks, and approaches for efficiency and innovation. Evaluate emerging technologies such as Progressive Web Apps (PWA), headless WordPress, and cloud hosting solutions. Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Graduated/pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Required Skills: WordPress core, themes, and plugin development. Familiarity with social media branding. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to lead projects. Preferred Skills: PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript, and React. WooCommerce, Gutenberg, REST APIs, GraphQL, and headless CMS implementations.
