Job Description
The Work Life Engagement (HR) Operations Specialist plays a critical role in advancing efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall employee experience throughout the Campus. Grounded in Anderson University’s commitment to a FAITHFUL C.A.M.P.U.S. , this role supports a workplace culture marked by clarity, care, and stewardship by ensuring HR processes are both operationally sound and mission aligned. The role is responsible for coordinating key Human Resources operational and administrative processes, including student and staff employment, onboarding, and training support—while actively identifying and implementing improvements to systems, workflows, and administrative practices. This role moves beyond task execution to process ownership , ensuring that WLE operations are streamlined, scalable, and aligned drive a positive employee experience and culture. Core Responsibilities HR Operations & Process Coordination Coordinate and support core HR operational functions including: Student employment processes (on-campus and FWS) Onboarding and new employee orientation logistics Foster accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all employment-related processes Maintain data integrity across HR systems and documentation practices Process Improvement & Systems Optimization Evaluate current workflows; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enhance user experience Transition existing tracking methods into more effective system-based solutions where appropriate Partner with WLE leadership to modernize processes. Develop and document streamlined procedures to ensure consistency and sustainability Student Employment Program Coordination Oversee operational coordination of student employment, including: Job posting and application processes Required documentation and compliance tracking Communication and support for student employees and supervisors Ensure alignment with federal work study requirements and institutional policies Identify opportunities to improve the student employment experience and administrative efficiency Onboarding & Employee Experience Support Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a welcoming and seamless experience for new employees Partner with ITS and campus stakeholders to support timely system access and onboarding completion Monitor onboarding progress and training requirements (e.g., FERPA, Title IX) Contribute to a positive first impression of Anderson University through organized and thoughtful onboarding practices Training & Development Support Assist in the coordination and delivery of employee training initiatives Support logistics for workshops, sessions, and campus-wide development opportunities Partner with WLE leadership to enhance training processes and participation experiences Events & Engagement Coordination Support planning and execution of key employee events, including recognition programs and campus-wide gatherings Coordinate logistics, communications, and materials to ensure successful event delivery Contribute ideas to enhance employee engagement and experience through events and programming Office & Operational Support Provide high-level coordination of WLE office operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functionality Supervise and guide student workers supporting WLE functions High School Diploma/GED plus 2-3 Years of Relevant Experience Prior work supporting human resources processes and procedures is desirable Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills Strong computer and internet research skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with transferable skills to the Google Docs Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Forms). Ability to always maintain confidentiality and composure in potentially stressful situations. Ability to be flexible, perform multitasks and support multiple supervisors, during frequent interruptions. A firm sense of responsibility with attention to detail and clear understanding of routine and nonroutine administrative tasks Candidates should have belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ and the Christian faith as interpreted through the historic witness of the Bible and the contemporary ministry of the Holy Spirit. They should possess a vitality of Christian experience that is maturing in insight and application.
