Workers' Compensation WCAB Hearing Representative (Lien Resolution) This role requires direct experience appearing at WCAB lien hearings and negotiating lien settlements.Applicants without WCAB hearing experience will not be considered.This position is structured as an independent contractor role.We are seeking experienced hearing representatives who are comfortable managing appearances and lien negotiations, either as their primary role or alongside other clients.Compensation structure is flexible and may include per-appearance, per-resolution, percentage-based, or a combination, depending on experience, availability, and volume of hearings.Garfield Health Center is a premier California Workers' Compensation medical group specializing in chiropractic, acupuncture, and general medical services, with our primary office located in Alhambra, California.We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Workers' Compensation Lien Representative to support the resolution of outstanding medical liens and represent the organization at WCAB proceedings.This is not an entry-level position.The ideal candidate will have proven, hands-on experience in California Workers' Compensation lien resolution and WCAB appearances.The role requires strong familiarity with WCAB procedures and the ability to represent the organization professionally during WCAB hearings and lien-related proceedings.While some hearings may be conducted virtually, candidates must be available to attend in-person appearances at WCAB district offices as required.Key Responsibilities Appear at WCAB hearings and proceedings related to lien resolution, including but not limited to lien conferences, lien trials, ADR proceedings, and other lien-related appearances Attend in-person hearings at WCAB district offices as required, in addition to virtual appearances Negotiate and resolve medical liens with insurance carriers and applicant attorneys Manage a portfolio of outstanding liens and develop resolution strategies Review EOBs, medical records, and legal documentation to support settlement positions Respond to legal and insurance correspondence related to lien claims Apply California Workers' Compensation laws, OMFS, and applicable regulations in negotiations Collaborate with internal billing and legal teams to ensure accurate and compliant lien handling Stay current with WCAB procedures, regulatory updates, and relevant case law Qualifications Minimum 3 years of direct experience in California Workers' Compensation lien resolution Demonstrated experience appearing at WCAB hearings is required Ability and willingness to attend in-person WCAB hearings as needed Strong working knowledge of:Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) EAMS and DWC procedures Lien filing and settlement processes Utilization Review (UR) and RFA workflows Ability to interpret EOBs, medical records, and legal documentation Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively Compensation Independent contractor compensation structure based on experience May include per-appearance, per-resolution, percentage-based, or hybrid models Opportunity for consistent volume of hearings and long-term collaboration Work Location:Hybrid remote in Alhambra, CA 91801.
