Summary Under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager, this role serves to load truss packs safely and securely onto trailer for delivery and unload incoming materials. Load all EWP and Truss deliveries Build packs of trusses in yard Move finished truss packs from rollers to staging yard Responsible for yard cleanliness Ensure all trusses are accounted for prior to and after loading trucks Unload and load incoming truss deliveries. This includes hangars, plates, orders, etc. This does NOT include lumber or EWP orders Responsible for making sure staging yard is organized and clean at all times. Responsible for yard safety and keeping those walking in the yard safe. No unbalanced truss packs that could fall or hurt someone If old trusses are in the yard (have been in the yard multiple weeks) are reported to Production Manager or Truss Operations Manager. Reports to the Truss Operations Manager Time off Sick time Issues and/or needs Build and band truss loads and hanger packs in a manner to ensure safety and security during transport Loading trusses onto trailers with forklift in a safe manner for transport Insure no truss webs are broken Insure there are no missing plates Keep area clean Assist in moving material for truss production Other Duties This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. This role requires the ability to get on and off a forklift multiple times throughout the day The area can be noisy due to the use of power equipment. Climate temperatures change with the seasons. Personal Protective Equipment is provided, such as gloves, safety glasses, back braces, and ear plugs. Physical Demands This job requires the ability to lift and pull heavy loads and the ability to work in a bent over position. Use of a back brace is recommended when handling trusses. The worker may be subject to extreme heat or cold temperatures at times, depending on the season. Travel No overnight travel is expected, however, travel to areas within the state may be required on a limited basis to help with restacking truss packs.
