The Ohio Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoSCoC) is the homeless response system that operates within Ohio's 80 rural and suburban counties.This CoC includes more than 200 housing and service providers working together to address homelessness across more than 500 projects.The Ohio BoSCoC is led by COHHIO in partnership with the Ohio Department of Development and receives funding from multiple sources, including HUD's Continuum of Care Program.Through a Youth Homelessness System Improvement grant, we are piloting a Mentor program to support local youth action boards.These groups provide opportunities for young people ages 18-24, many with lived experience of housing instability and homelessness, to work together to prevent and end youth homelessness in their local communities.Role Description Youth Action Board Mentors (YAB-M) are near-peer adults (ages 25-30) who will work locally to strengthen regional youth action boards in Ohio's rural and suburban communities in the Balance of State CoC.While many mentoring programs assign mentors 1:1 with a mentee, this role is designed to provide whole group support rather than individual support.Mentors will participate actively in 12 weeks of paid training.This will include an onboarding session, three in-person half-day sessions, and eight online 90-minute sessions.After training, mentors will receive ongoing coaching, compensation, and mileage/tech stipends for supporting regional YABs.Qualifications Ideal candidates will be those who live in the Ohio Balance of State have lived experience of homelessness (strongly preferred) enjoy working with young adults in group settings desire to give back to their community can commit to some weekday, daytime hours for training and meetings (schedule TBD) have previous YAB experience (helpful but not required) have some knowledge or experience with social service programs have access to reliable transportation, mileage paid have access to laptop or tablet to join meetings, tech stipend available have a clean background check Timeframe Online application https://forms.office.com/r/VjLeLSCaUq and submission of two letters of recommendation (by email to erinhachtel@cohhio.org) must be completed by April 30, 2026.This pilot program will begin in June 2026 and conclude February 28, 2027.Compensation Mentors are compensated at $50/hr for training and time spent in YAB meetings.Mileage to and from training and onsite meetings will be paid.Pay:$50.00 per hour Benefits:Mileage reimbursement Application Question(s):This position is open to statewide candidates in Ohio with travel to Columbus occasionally required.Are you able to travel from your home location to Columbus for occasional meetings or training?
