Youth & Community Learning Program Assistant Youth & Community Learning Program Assistant SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Director of Youth & Community Learning, Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) seeks to hire a Youth & Community Learning Program Assistant. As this position is grant funded, it will begin in late May or early June of 2026 and end in August 2027. This role is non-exempt with an hourly pay rate of $21.15 - $22.11 Programs supported by this role include: Creative Summer Workshops (1st -12th grade and Adults) College Preview (a two week residential, credit-bearing experience for high school students). Fall Saturday Art Classes (1st -12th grade and Adults) Fall Evening Art Classes for Adults Central Ohio Scholastics Art Competition Spring Saturday Art Classes (1st -12th grade and Adults) Spring Evening Art Classes for Adults Art Educator Professional Development Workshops ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following: Primarily: Support both the Director of Youth & Community Learning and Youth & Community Learning Program Coordinator in delivering seasonal programming Specifically: Serve as the main point-of-contact for the Evening Art Class program for adults Plan and implement Art Educator Professional Development programming Assist with executing the regional Scholastics art adjudication, exhibition, and ceremony Attend various fairs, conferences, and community events hosted by local school districts, the city of Columbus, local businesses, OAEA, and more Develop and foster relationships with local and statewide K-12 art educators As well as: Assist with creation and maintenance of programming schedules, enrollment systems, and records Assist with the building and implementation of assessment and reporting systems for Youth & Community Learning programs Assist with the review of syllabi, supply requests, lesson planning, and accommodation requests on a term by term basis Assist with departmental supply purchasing, organization, inventory, and distribution May serve as a point-of-contact for guardians of students enrolled in these programs though in-person interactions or tools like email and phone Assist with communication with Youth & Community Learning instructors and student workers in-person and through tools like email, phone, and Discord. Assist with preparation and installation of end-of-term gallery exhibitions as needed Assist with the supervision of off-campus College Preview field trips (transportation provided) Create and implement fun, engaging activities for College Preview attendees to enjoy during non-class hours May be asked to lead certain workshops or substitute for courses as necessary and able Attend, schedule, and lead meetings where appropriate Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed above. Additional qualifications include: Excellent interpersonal communication and human relations skills (written and verbal) Time management skills Ability to set priorities that accurately reflect relative importance of duties Ability to work independently within a team in a fast-paced office environment Ability to be proactive, creative, and have a problem solving approach Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and proactive working style Excellent organizational and project management skills Detail oriented and deadline driven work ethic Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints Must be flexible and able to work unconventional hours, including some evenings and weekends Computer literacy with Google Suite Adobe Suite experience preferred but not required Visual arts experience or degree preferred EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associates or Bachelors degree required (Visual or Performing Arts, Arts Education, K-12 Education, or Higher Education Administration preferred) Experience in K-12 education administration, youth arts administration, or camp supervision preferred.
