We are seeking team members to join our work family and share our values. Livingston County Library Job Opening @ the LILLIAN DESMARIAS YOUTH LIBRARY located at 917 Washington, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Youth Library Outreach Coordinator Position Starting salary: Dependent upon experience Lillian DesMarias Youth Library, a branch location of the Livingston County Library, has the Outreach Coordinator position open. Duties include facilitating outreach programming for ages 0-5 while developing rapport with parents/caregivers. Duties also include offering great customer service and travel. This will be high-energy, multitasking, detail-oriented, part-time position visiting area daycares and preschools. If you are willing to sing, chant, and dance with toddlers while they learn the joy of reading this position is for you on the Library Team. When school begins in the fall, the Outreach Coordinator will also provide programming for area elementary schools and community groups at their locations. Minimum requirements of this position are: · A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Some college is helpful and preferred, however, this job could be performed by an intelligent, well-organized person with appropriate experience working with early and elementary aged children. · Maintain an understanding and appreciation of children’s reading skills and the concerns of parents and other adults who work with children. · Good communication skills and customer service skills · Computer skills · A valid driver’s license is a MUST. · A background screening will be mandatory. Preferred requirements of this position are: · One (1) years or more experience working with early literacy learning for ages 0-4 years and their parents/caregivers. · One (1) year or more experience working with elementary aged youth. The position would be part time, 25-30 hours weekly with benefits available. Availability for evening and rotating Saturdays are a MUST.
