Job Title: Facility Manager / Direct Care Staff Organization: Embolden Youth Services – Iris House (STRTP) Location: Los Angeles County, CA Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (AM, PM, NOC shifts available) Pay Range: $20.00-$23.00 Position Overview Embolden Youth Services – Iris House is a licensed Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) serving foster youth ages 13–17, with a focus on LGBTQ+ youth. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Facility Manager / Direct Care Staff to support daily operations and provide direct supervision and care to youth in a structured, trauma-informed environment. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic milieu while ensuring compliance with Title 22 regulations, Interim Licensing Standards (ILS), and Los Angeles County DCFS/DMH requirements. Key Responsibilities Facility Oversight & Operations Assist with day-to-day facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and structured environment Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, policies, and procedures Monitor facility safety, including medication storage, logs, and emergency preparedness Support scheduling and shift coverage as needed Direct Care & Supervision Provide 24-hour supervision and support to youth Maintain appropriate staff-to-youth ratios at all times Implement trauma-informed and behavior management strategies Support youth with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, chores, routines) Plan activities and programs for the youth daily Documentation & Compliance Complete required documentation including: Daily logs Incident reports Medication logs Progress notes Report incidents in accordance with DCFS and licensing timelines Maintain confidentiality of all client information Report to Administrator Program Support Facilitate or assist with structured group activities and life skills development Support youth in attending school, appointments, and community activities Assist with intake and orientation of new residents Qualifications Minimum 21 years of age High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred Experience working with foster youth, at-risk youth, or in residential care preferred Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavior management techniques Ability to work flexible shifts (including weekends, holidays, and overnight/NOC shifts) Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record Must pass background clearance (Live Scan) Preferred Qualifications Experience in STRTP, group home, or residential treatment setting Knowledge of LGBTQ+ affirming practices CPR/First Aid certification Pro-ACT training (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm in crisis situations Strong documentation and organizational skills Team-oriented with a commitment to youth development and safety Work Environment This position requires working in a residential setting with youth who may have experienced trauma and may present behavioral or emotional challenges. Staff must be able to maintain professionalism, consistency, and a supportive presence at all times.
